Summary
The purpose of this paper was evaluation of the state and funding structure of innovation activity in Poland against selected European Union countries in the first decade of the twenty-first century. The first part of the paper has expalined the nature of innovative activity. The second section covered an anlysis of the size and dynamics of expenditures on innovation activity and performance of enterprises engaged in innovation activity.
